Dosage Guidelines
PRESCRIPTION REQUIRED - Always follow your veterinarian's specific instructions.
Dogs:
- Starting dose: 0.02 mg (20 mcg) per kg body weight, once or twice daily
- Administered orally, preferably on an empty stomach
- Dosage adjusted based on thyroid level monitoring
Cats:
- Dosage determined individually by veterinarian
- Typically lower doses than dogs
- Requires regular blood work monitoring
Key Contraindications
- Hyperthyroidism or thyrotoxicosis
