Milbemax tablets contain Milbemycin Oxime 12.5 mg and Praziquantel 125 mg, a broad-spectrum dewormer for dogs weighing 5 kg and above. This combination anthelmintic treats and controls intestinal worms including roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and tapeworms in dogs. SCHEDULE H PRESCRIPTION DRUG - Must be sold by retail only on prescription of a Registered Veterinary Practitioner.
Dosage and Administration
For Dogs ≥5 kg Body Weight:
- Dosage: One tablet per dog based on body weight
- Administer as a single oral dose
- Can be given with or without food
- Repeat treatment as recommended by veterinarian (typically every 3-6 months)
- Weight-specific dosing required - consult your veterinarian
Dosing Examples:
- 5 kg and above dogs: 1 tablet (12.5 mg/125 mg formulation)
- Larger dogs may require different strength formulations
Contraindications
- Puppies under 2 weeks of age or weighing less than 0.5 kg
- Dogs with known hypersensitivity to milbemycin or praziquantel
- Sick, debilitated, or underweight animals (use with caution)
- Ivermectin-sensitive breeds (Collies, Shelties, Australian Shepherds) - use only under close veterinary supervision
- Pregnant dogs during first 4 weeks of gestation (consult veterinarian)

Common Side Effects
